Additional Training Programs

At Cavan FC, player development goes beyond the weekly game. Our supplemental training programs are designed to give players of all ages and skill levels the opportunity to continue growing, building confidence, and refining their technical abilities, all in a fun and supportive environment. Whether your child is just starting out or looking to take their game to the next level, our Grassroots Development Program, Future Stars Program, and Performance Institute provide a clear pathway for development throughout the year. Led by our Club Technical Trainers, these programs focus on individual skill development, creativity, and game awareness—helping players develop not only as athletes, but as confident and capable individuals both on and off the field.

Grassroots Development Program - 2013-2020 - Runs Weekly June-July - 8 Sessions - $50.00

The Cavan FC Grassroots Development Program is an optional skills-based add-on program designed for players registered in the Cavan FC House League who want extra development beyond their weekly game.

This program provides an additional weekly training session focused on individual skill development in a fun, supportive, and age-appropriate environment. Program will run Friday evenings in June and July.

  • 8 sessions, Fridays – June 5, 12, 19, 26 & July 10, 17, 24 & 31.
  • Open for players born 2013-2020
  • Crestwood Secondary School (1885 Sherbrooke St W, Cavan-Monaghan, ON K9J 0E5)
  • 6:00-7:00 pm
  • Cost $50.00

Players will be trained by Cavan FC Technical Trainers and will learn:

  • Ball mastery & confidence on the ball
  • 1 v 1 attacking and defending skills
  • Passing, dribbling, and shooting fundamentals
  • Small-sided games to apply skills in realistic scenarios
  • Decision-making, creativity, and game awareness
Future Stars Program - Post Season - 2018-2023 - Runs Weekly August-September - 3 Sessions - $40.00

The Cavan FC Future Stars Program is a fun, development-focused program designed for younger players who want to build confidence with the ball while learning the basic skills of soccer in a positive and engaging environment.

Led by Cavan FC Technical Trainers and Game Leaders, this program helps introduce players to soccer fundamentals through age-appropriate activities and games. It provides an opportunity for players to continue developing their skills and serves as an early step in the Cavan FC player development pathway, helping prepare players for future participation in House League and Development programs.

  • 3 sessions, Tuesdays – August 18, August 25 & September 1
  • Open for players born 2018–2023
  • Maple Leaf Park (1461 Peterborough County Rd 10, Cavan, ON L0A 1C0)
  • 6:00–6:45 pm
  • Cost $40.00


Players will be grouped by age:

  • Mini Stars – 3 & 4 year olds (2022–2023)
  • All Stars – 5 & 6 year olds (2020–2021)
  • Future Stars – 7 & 8 year olds (2018–2019)

Players will be trained by Cavan FC Technical Trainers and Game Leaders and will learn:

  • Ball control and confidence with the ball
  • Dribbling, passing, and shooting fundamentals
  • 1 v 1 attacking and defending basics
  • Small-sided games (3v3, 4v4, 5v5) to apply skills
  • Movement skills including agility, balance, coordination, and speed

Sessions use fun station-based activities that allow players to rotate through different skill areas while learning at their own pace. This approach helps build confidence, improve coordination, and introduce players to the fundamentals of soccer in an environment that encourages creativity, participation, and enjoyment of the game.

CFC Performance Institute - Fall & Winter Season (2025/2026) - 2008-2019 - Runs Weekly November-March - 15 Sessions - $200.00-$250.00

The Cavan FC Performance Institute is a technical training program designed to provide players with high-quality skill development in a structured and supportive training environment. Led by our Cavan FC Technical Trainers, this program focuses on improving individual technical ability, confidence on the ball, and overall game understanding.

This program offers additional training sessions that complement the development of players within the Cavan FC pathway. Sessions focus on building strong technical foundations and refining skills that help players perform at a higher level of the game.

  • Ages U7–U18
  • Multiple training locations across Peterborough
  • Indoor training sessions during the fall and winter months
  • Cost: U7–U9 $200 | U10+ & Goalkeepers $250


Training locations include:

  • St. Peter Secondary School – U7–U14 and U15 Girls & Boys (730 Medical Dr, Peterborough, ON K9J 8M4)
  • Crestwood Secondary School – Keeper Clinic (1885 Sherbrooke St W, Cavan-Monaghan, ON K9J 0E5)
  • St. Catherine Catholic Elementary School – U18 Girls (1575 Glenforest Blvd, Peterborough, ON K9K 2J6)

Players are required to wear:

  • Non-marking indoor soccer, court, or running shoes
  • Shin pads
  • Outdoor cleats are not permitted.

Players will be trained by Cavan FC Technical Trainers and will work on:

  • Ball mastery and confidence on the ball
  • Passing and receiving techniques
  • 1 v 1 attacking and defending skills
  • Agility, balance, and speed development
  • Finishing and attacking play
  • Small-sided games to apply skills in realistic scenarios
  • Spaces in each session will be limited to help ensure players receive individualized attention and quality technical instruction.
